Tooth and lower jaw of the Woolly Mammoth

Mammuthus primigenius

These fossilised remains come from the 'Thames River Gravels' which were laid down during the Upper Pleistocene period.

The specimen was found near the course of the present River Thames in Wiltshire and is approximately 50,000 years old.
