Longaeviceras placenta

A rare ammonite from the 'Middle' Oxford Clay (Athleta Zone). Approximately 165 million years old.

Found near Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England by Mark in 1990. This specimen measures over 2" across (6 cm) and was found loose in the clay (no preparation required). Note the white suture patterns which contrast well against the dark pyrite.
