Clypeus ploti

A large sea urchin or echinoid from the Upper Bajocian stage of the Jurassic period.

This specimen measures 4" across and was found in the Cotwold Hills, England. The specimen is one of many we have found in the 'Clypeus Grit' an oolitic limestone deposit about 175 million years old.
