Cadoceras sublaeve

From the Callovian stage of the Jurassic period (Kellaways Rock). This specimen measures 2" across and is preserved in golden calcite. Notice the 'suture' patterns on the outer whorl. Specimens measuring 6" diameter are not uncommon.

The centres of these ammonites are difficult to prepare. This specimen was found in Wiltshire by Neville.
